About 4 years ago, I noticed this sore on the back of my head, just inside my lower hairline. It hurt for a while, and I just kinda thought it was either an ingrown hair or a zit. I had people look at it various times, and nobody really could say what it was, including doctors.

Since then, the sore has flared up and cooled off repeatedly. It would usually flare up when it got cold outside, then cool off once it had been cold for a while, or it warmed up. Today, when it started cooling off outside, something weird happened.

We had a car in the shop and I felt something on my ear. I said to the guy in the pit, "I think there's a spider trying to get in my ear..." A little while later, after I heard what sounded like water in my right ear, I said, "Whatever was trying to get in succeeded, I think." The other guy's eyes got really big and he said, "WHAT?!" I took one of the shop towels out of my pocket and rubbed at my ear a little, and presto! On the rag when I pulled it away was a typical tick.

Gross and creepy, I know. Try being me.

After that car was done in the shop, I went in the bathroom with a paperclip and gently dug inside my ear, making sure I didn't have others in there. I thought about the sore on the back of my head, and when I reached to feel it, it was gone!

Since then, I've been feeling a lot better. The boss lady was at the shop this evening and she commented that I look like I feel really good. I suppose I should go get tested for Lyme Disease, but considering how long I've had that sore, I'm not too entirely worried about getting to the doctor right away.
