Remember back this spring when I said I was going to take my vacation to finish a project? Remember the surprise I said it would be? Well guess what: Surprise over.

I was going to get the new version of SkuddBlog done and deployed here. I thought it would be possible, and that I'd be able to come up with a bandwidth-friendly template. How wrong I was.

I just got the authentication portion done, and was in need of the template to actually work with for testing and further development. So, I started with the template.

Just when I got everything (nearly) done and working well (in Firefox, mind you), I decided to give it a test in IE. I told myself, "$5 says it won't render." I owe myself $5.

In Firefox In Internet Explorer

Clearly, it has to do with the way IE renders borders, padding, and margin. It's a very common headache among the web design community, and the reason most grown men are bald.

I think I'm going to give up on this project and go for a drive. Screw this crap.

  • I'm glad you didnt change, I am not a fan of the new design........sorry.

  • Me either. I just need to get so much fixed and features added on here (for functionality and security), but it's nearly impossible to do with the ugly codebase. Believe it or not, this system was coded from the ground-up in a day, and it was the first project of mine to use Smarty.
