I worked from 10:00AM to 6:00PM today.

When I got there at 10:00, there had only been 6 cars through the shop. When I left, a total of 40 had passed through. The average car count per hour was 4, for the 10 hour period, but for the afternoon (12:00 onward) it was 4 2/3. Figure about 12 minutes per car and you can see that we were very grateful for any bit of breather time we could find.

The shop record is 40 cars in 6 hours, which works out to 6 2/3 per hour. When we did this, we had 3 people working, and one of them was working for his first day at the shop. I personally don't remember the day at all.

  • I take that back... The other 40 car day I spoke of was also a Friday, which means it was still a 10 hour span. We did have 7 cars per hour for a couple of hours.
