Here within the last few days, I've been hearing about the "behind-the-back" statements that have been made about me, my work, and my life. So, I have a statement for all of you who have taken part in this:

I'm sorry that I'm not as "perfect" as you are, but I'm living in a different kind of world. I'm not worried about how "pretty" my code looks, or what colors I use, or what naming convetions I used. I worry about whether my work fits my customer's needs, if it is going to be reliable, if it's something that I don't have to decrypt when I go back to debug, and if it is going to scale to fit their future needs, as well as my own.

I don't talk about people behind their backs. I don't say that I don't like someone unless I scream it to the entire world. Do you have a problem with it? Speak up now, because I'm not into this whole masquerade deal.

Did I say I was perfect? No. Quite the contrary. However, take a lesson: Treat other people with respect and you'll receive the same respect tenfold.
