In a news article, it is outlined that Palestinians are quite upset over the descecration of their "holy book", the Quran.

As I read this, I thought about how unbalanced this world is. I know for a fact that there are many athiest groups that will burn the Bible, or violate it in manners quite similar to the one in the above linked article.

But this is what doesn't make sense: This country is primarily Catholic, from my personal observations, but there's also a lot of Protestant people in our population. Both use the Bible, albeit two different versions, but I highly doubt this kind of uproar would happen if a Bible was thrown in a toilet.

This is pretty much an attack on both society and Christianity. Sure, the book itself is just ink and paper, but is it not valued? What about all these evangelistic trips to China, trying to smuggle in copies of the Bible? It apparently means something to them, so why shouldn't it mean something to us? Why should we tolerate the abuse and destruction of what we believe to be the word of God?

And society... Ugh!!!

Dearest Society, We've known each other for a really long time, and have gotten to know each other, but I feel it's time we part ways. You have been there for me, but not in the sense most people would think. No, you've been there for me to see how not to be. You've always been completely opposite of what I believe. Why be kind? YOU SUCK! You're so inconsistent and inconsiderate of others. All you care about is yourself. You're driven by monitary gain, popularity, and lust. You can't do anything right, and you're always worried about what others think of you. Guess what... I HATE YOU, SOCIETY I don't expect you to forgive me, nor do I expect you to ever respect me again as a part of you, so I suggest you just move on and keep worrying about yourself and that seemingly spotless image. Goodbye, Society. I hope you die and burn in Hell. -Tim

Don't take that wrong. I'm not going to do anything rash. I'm also not referring to the people in the world. I'm referring to the group as a whole and their completely screwed up actions.

So yeah... It's a big deal when another religion's book of guiding words is put to shame, but apparently not the religion this country is, mostly. Way to go, world.
