Yeah, I didn't give the dude any information other than "You have the wrong person."
Whatever you guys do, DO NOT give out any personal information. It could be a scam, and someone trying to get your information to cause identity theft. Be very cautious.
Yes, but what do they define as spam? Would something like the scenario I suggested above be considered spam? I bet it would be.
Don't get me wrong, Jason, I'm not mad at you. I'm mad at the whiny society that has no tolerance for anything, but tolerates everything.
I used to get messages all the time that said like, "This call concerns important personal business." One time I got that message and it clicked over to something that said I had a long-overdue balance of $31.83 and to stay on the line to make payment arrangements. So I actually was home once when that call came in, and I did stay on the line, and nothing ever happened. I was surprised not to find some outlandish charge on my next phone bill. It sounded like a pretty big scam. Especially considering none of the calls ever said what company it was.
Wow. I doubt it'll got that far.
There was a story of mistaken debt identity a while back, where the victim was constantly hassled about it for a number of years in the most terrible, debt collecting ways, even after consistently telling them how they had the wrong person. When the guy killed himself, he listed that as one of his reasons.
Spam rules will be as strict as the AUP forced on us by the server providers.
It ranks up there as one of my favourite's. Other than Fight Club its Edward Norton's best movie.
i rate that movie on so many levels its not funny.
i could really go on all day.
=)
(And just because it's your day off and you're not at work or at a project deadline or whatever doesn't mean you can't still feel the effects of stress.)
It could just be stress. Or just a bad mood. It happens.
I once spammed some guy I know with magazines (real ones) including things like a barbie mag etc... :D
Interesting point, at work we mass mail news to people who require information on new courses that we offer. Many complain they cannot access the links we provide (which is probably AOL blocking access with its all-in-one super duper control panel).
I found this fantastic mailing script also, spurts out 4500 emails in about 3mins (and thats staggered). :D
Don't any of the garages over there employ the use of car-lifts? I think that that makes life somewhat easyer? I guess that a pit is cheaper though...
I can't believe how many idiot drivers there are.
Well, I will stand that ground if it ever happens.
Isn't it the drivers own responsibility if they drive their car into the pit because of ignoring your hand signals?
Oh.. Well, that's partially right. Dad knows he'll benefit from it, considering he's the only one home during the day.
See, I know it wont only benifit you, there Skimmah, I said that mom and dad would FEEL that it would only benifit you.
Oh yeah, and holy crap, it must be nice to have DSL available. Stupid Bourbonnais.
Maybe Mom will be more likely to "get on this thing" if you have a high speed connection.
DO IT!
Go for it. You're a web developer! Your internet connection is a high priority.
It won't ONLY benefit me. Mom's the one that complains about the phone being tied up, the internet being so slow, and not being able to "do email" when Dad is doing his downloading.
Ha! the rents pitching in on a bill that they feel will only benifit you......good luck. Had we brought that to the table when I was living there, mom would have given us a heaping helping of "no chance in heck!"
Most people have chances in life. That's why you and us have welfare systems.
Everyone has their own agenda on July 4th is probably what Matt meant. He has a point. Not all civilians appreciate the troops. I wish they did because like Josh said it's not their fault.
Dustin: I'm glad to see you enjoy your freedom.
Anonymous: I never said there wasn't anything wrong with it. Just do like Josh implied and take the time to remember what the day is all about. Same thing with ANY holiday, for that matter.
Arthur: I couldn't agree more.
Matt: I'm with Josh... What are you talking about?
Unfortunately, I don't think anyone would understand until they actually met Mom. Chris thought I was whining about nothing and exaggerating until he met her.
